While academic discussion of authenticity has focused mainly on the aesthetic aspects, this volume focuses on the narrative dimension of the phenomenon. The authors thereby reveal a conceptual shift from referential to relational authenticity. The essays examine issues related to production, narration, and reception, and thus provide the first contribution from narrative theory to research on authenticity.
